Capital Green is the oldest competitive all-gender a cappella group at Michigan State University.
Capital Green is through their 25th year of singing! Over the past year, they have performed at various venues both competitively and recreationally. On February 3rd, CG returned to the ICCA, the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella. They placed First at their quarterfinals and became the only group from Michigan State to advance to the Great Lakes Semifinals for the third year in a row. Beyond that, they took home all four individual awards: Outstanding Arrangement, Outstanding Soloist, Outstanding Vocal Percussion, and Outstanding Choreography. It was a night they will never forget, and they didn't stop there. They placed first at their Semifinal in Milwaukee and received awards for Outstanding Choreography and Outstanding Arrangement. This propelled them to travel to New York City for Finals, being the first group from Michigan State to perform at finals. They are extremely grateful for their journey and cannot wait for another year of performing.
Capital Green enjoys competing in the ICCA every year, singing at the annual MSU Accapalooza concert, going on retreat each fall, and participating in many other events and traditions on and off campus. Most importantly, Capital Green is a tight-knit chosen family that enjoys making memories and spending time with each other.
